Bereavement Before Dawn

Music : Conscience
Texts : Nicolas Moulard

You will sharpen your life on the file of others’ sarcasm to poke a hole in the smothering shroud that is the self-made dark shell we build everyday.

Like birds slowly regressing into their egg, locking themselves back piece after piece in the casket that will isolate them from their own true chance for existence…Becoming zombies trapped in life, like air in water…

You will have the courage that leads to the liberating gift of integrity and righteousness because “the only devils in this world are those running around in our own hearts, and that is where all of our battles ought to be fought.”

You will open your eyes because you understand this wick shrinks even when it is not lit. And when, or if, you are not looking, it runs away never to return.

So you will see to it that every time you stumble you will focus on the light to come, not on the night that seems to have settled, for you shall remember that this pain you drag is only bereavement before dawn…
